Will smiles sadly, "We can talk about the dreams, Trouble, but smoking wont block them out. Just remember there's a lot of assholes in this world, and they all eventually die. That means there is a critical mass of assholes from the ages piling up in the Dreaming. Just because they are there doesn't mean they know what they are talking about. I always like to ask how they died. That can weed out a lot of them." He snorts his amusement.

Illiana lets out a breath she seemed to be holding for a bit. "Okay, I guess it's a good thing Will offered me some of his calming weed. I may just move into the brig for the short term though. Never a bad idea to have a locked door between you and a pain crazed being. Is there anything I can do in the meantime to help?" She smiles broadly Cesta, then cocks her head and looks at Damion. "I don't suppose it's as easy as just letting her hold the map?"
She turns back to Cesta "Sorry random thought." Illiana peers over Troubles shoulder, sticking a finger into the melting cheese. She sucks it off her finger then asks "You think its just about ready? I just have to sear this meat and I think we're close to being done."

Damien shrugs, "The maps I know of are in the hands of private collectors or museums" He replies. "Most private collectors wouldn't mind if I took a look at theirs, but others and some museums would be more....complicated." He glances at Ezelle, "If I can narrow things down by finding out which ones she can access, we don't have to spend time going for every one of them.... Of course, Ezelle could be a universal key." He nods to Cesta, "If that is so, I have it on good authority that we could be in considerable danger should Ezelle's master is still around."
Damien takes a sniff of the cooking food. "Smells good enough for me!" He puts his hand terminal away and starts getting dishes and silverware out of the cupboard.

Cesta gives Illiana a smile, shakes his head. "You are not going to have to lock yourself away, I do not believe it will set off your bloodlust. It's nothing like that. Your healing and your bloodlust have nothing to do with each other. I suspect it will make you hungry, incredibly hungry."
He nods to her current cooking, "and I know you already like to eat a lot."CESTA Trouble sticks her finger into the cheese sauce and takes it out sucking on it. She hesitates for a moment and then sticks it back in taking another taste. "It's ready, go ahead and sear the meat and I will dish this up for everyone." She looks over at the Captain, "Can I buy some baking supplies for the ship? Boothe was showing me how to make cookies"
Trouble smiles over at the Daikan who is currently giving her a sour look at her explanation.
- Trouble Ezelle cocks her head and watches Damien and listening to the others for a moment, she then runs her gaze across the galley looking for something. After a few moments she looks back at Damien. Her bright pink eyes intensely watching. "I can open any map." She says with a whisper, a look of anxiety and fear crossing her face. "My master was supposed to present me to the High Seer as a gift of his house to the Library. Technically anyone talking or touching me is supposed to be put to death."
She turned to Will, "You saw his dead body right? I mean you couldn't remove the collar without him being dead could you? I can feel that I am still attached to you, and the captain now. If he is still alive he will look for you."EZELLE

Illiana puts starts tossing slabs of meat into a pan. She lightly browns them on each side and pulls them out. While she's doing this she says to Ezelle "I for one will not let anything happen to you. Your one of us now. Besides, if your master or any of his flunkies are still alive and built like this one," she elbows Cesta playfully "I could take 'em" She puts the warmed meat on a plate and sets it on the table.

Will shakes his head sadly at Ezelle, "Not so much, no. The corporation had mostly freed up your collar, and I just inserted my blood instead. If that guy is still around, I'd be surprised, but it's not like he's not killable if he comes looking. Do you actively feel him?"
Will narrows his eyes, "Things have changed a lot since you were a gift. Your old master doesn't have the power he once had, and you are able to fight for your freedom, and have a band to back you. That makes things different, but perhaps there is a way of unmaking the map that you are. We can all look at you as an advantageous thing, but maybe you'd be happier if you didn't have that particular gift."

Ezelle smiles softly at Will, unused to the kindness she seems unsure what to say at first. "I will need to fight if they come, but I don't want to endanger anyone. I would not want to see any of you injured."She turns her gaze on Cesta, a calculating look that seems to be judging him. After a few moments she softens again. "I think Cesta doesn't understand what I am. I am not a race that a map cypher was placed in. My race are cyphers that were given mortal form. I don't know exactly what we were before our creation, but it was essence from the warp. To strip the map out of us, would unmake us. It is how we can read the maps we can. This is the case for many of the servitor races, they were created out of need for us during the final war. It is also why we aren't considered living creatures" She frowns slightly when she notices Cesta's doubtful look at that last part. She flicks her horn, "I wonder if that is why we look like we do as well."Her eyes go back to Will. "I can't feel him, but if I was alive when you found me I suspect whoever held my ownership mark was alive. Maybe he had given me when I was frozen. It also could be that he is too far away to feel."EZELLE [/div]

"Things are very different from when the elves ruled space for their brief dominion," Will explains. "They don't have the resources to just mobilize their forces. They are just remnants. Powerful remnants, but remnants just the same. My people occasionally hunt them for sport," he explains to Ezelle.

Illiana chews a few times and swallows. She leans over and puts an arm around Ezelle. "See, your safe with us. Besides Rose is super stealthy arnt you Ross! And we have a super secret base. "

Damien gets an incredulous look on his face, "Any map? No, wait, YOU are some kind of warp key?" The implications of what she says awes him speechless for a moment, then something thing else occurs to him.
"Hang on a sec," he says. "You were a gift for some high mucky-mucks library??"

Ezelle turns to Will and Illiana "Thank you Illiana. You are a kind soul. I do feel safer with you and with Rose watching over me."
"Will I didn't know your people had started hunting Altharins. When I was awake last, the Altharins were still putting up a fight against the enemy and you could see the fall happening, but they weren't yet weak enough to be hunted by war bands on an individual basis. I hadn't realized truly how low the Altharins were brought. When I was awake last, each craftworld was starting to find its own "allies". Even so they have things at their beck and call. Servants that scare even the most hardened Mishar"She cocks her head realizing that Damien didn't understand. She quietly looks at her hands, the weaving tattoos moving on their own accord, then looks back up at Damien. "I am a cypher, I can unlock any map, or any lock itself if I am used on it long enough. I don't know about your digital locks, but I think I would work even on those it just may take longer. As for being a gift, the Seer was receiving me on behalf of one of the Libraries.". "Your people's theory of a reoccurring Big Bang isn't far off. The universe has happened multiple times beyond count. There are things left over from the previous incarnations of the universe that still hold great power. They don't belong here now, but they still exist. One of them was called 'The Library' by the Altharins. Ezelle hesitates when she looks over at Cesta, "During this last war, the Library was attacked by both the Altharins and the enemy for different reasons. The Library was fragmented and my understanding is portions of it were under control of different factions. These libraries hold information, all the information in the current universe, or at least enough of it to make it incredibly powerful. The library itself feeds on information and seeks out new information anywhere it can.
I believe the libraries are now their own entities instead of being a single ancient entity. I worry that the library may look for me. Cypher's were very rare even during my time. I don't want to endanger you. The libraries have other factions they can influence, bargain or own that can come looking. Her eyes go back to Will. "I hope that the libraries are dead now, but it isn't something you should risk yourself for."EZELLE

Will nods with a wicked smile, "Elves made for pricey slaves, and exotic 'guests' for Beastman warbands. I've seen it happen. I'm not saying a well armed pile of them can't wipe out a warband, but they don't have access to the technology the way they used to. They don't own any corners of space that I know of. Humans, corporations, and other races have risen up. There was the whole human Empire that has risen and fallen since the Altharins ruled. You only find small pockets of them, and usually they are Altharins that are now laid so low as to be on the same technology level as my people. Things have definitely changed. There are some fearsome elves out there with their tech, but not many."
The big goat reaches over and takes a bowl of broccoli and cheese from Trouble. He then pulls down two instant vegetarian burgers, pulls the cord so they pop up warm and read to eat. He puts one on the plate with Troubles broccoli and cheese, and one on his own.
He then pats Trouble on the head, "This looks very good, honey. You did a great job."

"There are many legends of the library. As a general rule people seeking arcane or forbidden knowledge often make bargains with the “library”. There have been stories of small information being found, but that is uncommon. Generally, the library demands information or chores in exchange. There are legends that there are small libraries that sometimes fight with each other, some legends that it is a single library, but it is always like dealing with any incredibly powerful warp power, the library is said to always get the best part of the deal. The biggest users of the library were the Altharins and followers of Zlaarn in their pursuits of magic. Beastman Shamans have approached the library and have had secrets revealed, but often the shamans get more from Warp Lords themselves." OUT OF GAME GM COMMENT

Will leans forward, and says, "My people are aware of the library, or libraries. It's a deal with the devil, and the library always gets the best of anyone asking. The Chaos Lords are more sought after by our shamans. That should tell you something. I believe the Altharins were really big on using the library, but look where that got them. . . I think some of the libraries fight each other, and they always want information or actions as payment. It's not worth dealing with anymore than a chaos god is."
OUT OF GAME. No thanks! Not this guy! I don't need a talking book!
